FOUR DAUGHTERS on Saturday, March 2 at 3pm at The Roxy Theatre Between light and darkness stands Olfa, a Tunisian woman and the mother of four daughters. One day, her two older daughters disappear. To fill in their absence, the filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania invites professional actresses and invents a unique cinema experience that will lift the veil on Olfa and her daughters' life stories. An intimate journey of hope, rebellion, violence, transmission, and sisterhood that will question the very foundations of our societies. Arabic with English Subtitles
This documentary is a multiple award-winning international film, including the Golden Eye at Cannes, Best Documentary at both the Gotham and Film Independent Spirit Awards, and is nominated for an Academy Award. “A movie about the trauma of reliving these stories that is ultimately about the warmth and healing these narrators find in each other.” -Radheyan Simonpillai, CTV’s Your Morning
107 mins Content advisory: themes of sexual assault
Full-day pass - $65; individual films - $25 each.
